Zrekonštruovaná Slovenská národná galéria otvorená pre verejnosť
Po viac ako 20 rokoch od stanovenia nevyhnutnosti rekonštruovať Slovenskú národnú galériu (SNG) a takmer siedmich rokoch od začatia prác je kultúrny stánok pripravený na otvorenie. Verejnosti národnú zbierkotvornú inštitúciu sprístupnia v nedeľu 11. decembra. Vo štvrtok o tom informovali predstavitelia SNG i ministerstva kultúry.
“Počas otváracieho dňa si budú môcť návštevníci užiť celodenný program, dve úvodné výstavy, špeciálny projekt diel v architektúre a samozrejme sa nadýchať jedinečnej novoty, na ktorú sme všetci čakali,” uviedla generálna riaditeľka SNG Alexandra Kusá. Rekonštrukciu národnej galérie označila za historickú chvíľu nielen pre SNG, ale i celú krajinu. “Je to najväčšia kultúrna stavba, ktorú sme začali a dokončili po revolúcii,” zdôraznila. Poďakovala sa všetkým, ktorí sa o dielo zaslúžili.
Ministerka kultúry Natália Milanová (OĽANO) vidí v obnove a opätovnom sprístupnení SNG unikátny počin s obrovským prínosom pre umeleckú obec a všetkých milovníkov vizuálneho umenia. “Opätovne nadobúdame monumentálne reprezentatívne priestory, ktoré si naše umenie zaslúži,” dodala.
Zmluvu na rekonštrukciu SNG podpísali na konci roka 2015, obnova sa diala podľa víťazného návrhu architektov Martina Kusého a Pavla Paňáka. “Našou snahou bolo vytvoriť autentické dielo, v ktorom sú skĺbené štyri posledné storočia architektúry, priestory pre modernú prevádzku inštitúcie a prezentáciu našej výtvarnej kultúry,” povedal Paňák.
Investičný náklad akcie bol vo výške 75,5 milióna eur s DPH, investícia do interiéru bola vo výške 3,45 milióna eur s DPH. Pôvodne boli práce naplánované na 36 mesiacov. Harmonogram sa niekoľkokrát menil z rôznych dôvodov – najmä v dôsledku odhalení nových konštrukčných skutočností a nevyhnutných zmien v postupe stavebných prác. Rekonštrukcia zahŕňala niekoľko budov a verejných priestorov a rieši celý rozsiahly areál na brehu Dunaja.
Nová SNG ostane v tomto roku otvorená do 21. decembra. “Po novom roku bude galéria vzhľadom na veľkosť a potrebu zabezpečenia plynulej prevádzky fungovať na základe regulovaných vstupov – individuálnych prehliadok budovy a výstav, na ktoré sa budú môcť návštevníci prihlásiť,” informovala Klára Hudáková z oddelenia marketingu a tvorby programov SNG.
Novými priestormi SNG návštevníkov prevedie úvodná výstava Prológ 12 farieb reality. Prostredníctvom netradičného spojenia diel z rôznych historických období majú návštevníci získať pohľad na pestrosť zbierok SNG. K prvým aktivitám v novej SNG patrí tiež projekt Monumentálky, spájajúci sochy a diela úžitkového umenia, rovnako interaktívna výstava Prečo (ume)nie, odpovedajúca na najčastejšie otázky, spojené s umením.
The reconstructed Slovak National Gallery is open to the public

After more than 20 years since the need to reconstruct the Slovak National Gallery (SNG) was determined and almost seven years after the work began, the cultural exhibit is ready for opening. The Slovak National Gallery will be opened to the public on Sunday 11 December. Representatives of the SNG and the Ministry of Culture announced this on Thursday.
“During the opening day, visitors will be able to enjoy a full-day program, two introductory exhibitions, a special project of works in architecture and, of course, to take in the unique novelty we have all been waiting for,” said Alexandra Kusá, Director General of the National Gallery of Latvia. She described the reconstruction of the National Gallery as a historic moment not only for the SNG, but also for the whole country. “It is the biggest cultural construction we have started and completed since the revolution,” she stressed. She thanked all those who contributed to the work.
Culture Minister Natália Milanová (OĽANO) sees the restoration and reopening of the SNG as a unique achievement with a huge benefit for the art community and all lovers of visual arts. “We are regaining the monumental representative spaces that our art deserves,” she added.
The contract for the reconstruction of the SNG was signed at the end of 2015, and the renovation was carried out according based on the winning design of architects Martin Kusý and Pavel Paňák. “Our aim was to create an authentic work that combines the last four centuries of architecture, spaces for the modern operation of the institution, and the presentation of our artistic culture,” Paňák said.
The investment cost was 75.5 million euros including VAT, the investment in the interior was 3.45 million euros including VAT. Originally, the work was planned to be completed in 36 months. The schedule was changed several times for various reasons – mainly due to the discovery of new construction facts and necessary changes in the construction work procedure. The renovation included several buildings and public spaces and addresses the entire large area on the banks of the Danube.
The new SNG will remain open until 21 December this year. “After the new year, due to its size and the need to ensure smooth operation, the gallery will operate on the basis of regulated admissions – individual tours of the building and exhibitions that visitors will be able to sign up for,” said Klára Hudáková from the SNG’s marketing and programming department.
Visitors will be guided through the SNG’s new spaces by the inaugural exhibition Prologue 12 Colors of Reality. Through an unconventional combination of works from different historical periods, visitors will get a glimpse of the diversity of the SNG’s collections. The first activities in the new SNG also include the Monuments project, which brings together sculptures and works of applied art, as well as the interactive exhibition Why (Art) Not, answering the most frequent questions related to art.
