    Update from the President

Happy spring! I hope everyone had a blessed and happy Easter this year. As we reflected on God’s love for us within these past months, let us continue to keep the same spirit of the Easter season throughout the rest of the year.

Now that another major holiday has come and gone, the time has now come to prepare for the warmer weather. Many of us might be planning a vacation, cleaning out the house or preparing our yards for the spring season. Whatever the case may be, this season brings a time for change.

Speaking of changes, the First Catholic Slovak Union has also been making some changes within the past year to modernize and expand our Society. We have been working hard, coming up with a new look, programs and features our Members and potential Members will benefit from. We previously applied for trademarks on our rebrand and have finally received permission to begin using our new image. That being said, I am proud to officially announce that the First Catholic Slovak Union will now be doing business as FCSU Financial®.

Our goal from the very beginning was to continue to serve our Members with the best service possible while we grow our Society. We have refreshed our brand and logo in efforts to enhance brand recognition within the financial industry and clarify our work in providing financial security. With the rebranding, we also anticipate a greater awareness of our Society and encourage people from all backgrounds to join the FCSU to build their financial future and join our fraternal.

FCSU’s values and legacy will not be changing. We are still very proud of our Slovak heritage and faith and will continue participating in cultural events. Our Society will still be known as the First Catholic Slovak Union, but moving forward we will be promoting and handling all business ventures as FCSU Financial®. Please note, this does not affect any current Member’s policies.

We are excited to share with you this next chapter of the FCSU as we move forward together. We are already starting to implement our rebranded name and image. Coming up, you may see changes within our website, newspaper and social media.

I encourage everyone who has not done so already to follow our revamped Facebook page by searching ‘FCSU Financial’ on Facebook or going to www.facebook.com/FCSUFinancial to keep up to date on what is happening in our Society.

I thank all our Members for their support and the positive feedback we have received so far. I am looking forward to growing our Society and taking the next steps for a brighter future.

    Fraternally,
    Kenneth A. Arendt

Annual Report of the National Chaplain

Dear Board of Directors and Members of the FCSU:

It is an honor to be your National Chaplain. I was happy to be present for and to participate in several events in 2023.

I attended all four Board of Directors Meetings that were held either in person or virtually. Each session was opened and closed with a prayer and Mass was offered for the meetings held in person. National President Ken Arendt extended the invitation for me to be present for the Executive Committee meetings in March and December. I also opened and closed those meetings with prayer.

Rev. Thomas Nasta, President Ken Arendt, and fellow members of the FCSU Board of Directors:

In 2023, I performed the duties required of me as stipulated by the bylaws. I have attended all Board of Directors meetings as well as all monthly Executive Committee meetings. I have also made myself available to attend any impromptu on-line meetings when so invited by the President . I also regularly receive emails and text messages from Larry White regarding investment opportunities and acted accordingly to these messag es. I’ve attended via Zoom call both of Region 2’s district meetings. In October 2023, I went on a site visit checking out a potential 2026 convention location.
