Fraternalism in Action: Branch 716 Answers the Call

Branch 716 Answers the Call

It’s one of the founding tenets of our Society – fraternalism. Jednota has been asking FCSU members to think about how to put our fraternalism into action. Branch 716 answered the call.

Family, friends and fellow Slovaks gathered at St. John Nepomucene Church in New York City on August 1, 2020, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for FCSU member John Holy. The Mass was celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. Richard D. Baker and concelebrating was the Rev. Stefan Chanas, associate pastor of the Church of St. Clare on Staten Island. Branch 716 members, including Branch President Jan Škrkoň , were in attendance to pay tribute to Mr. Holy, husband of Nina Holy, Vice President of Branch 716. After the Mass, Branch 716 helped to provide refreshments outside the church for everyone.
