Branch 254 Shane Peremba Named PIHL Player of the Month

Shane Peremba is a senior at South Park High School, South Park, PA. Shane, a member of the FCSU Branch 254 since birth along with his brother Aaron, is the youngest son of Daneen and Rick Peremba.

Shane has been playing hockey since he was 8 years old. His current position is as a goalie on his high school’s team in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL). Last November, Shane was named the PIHL Player of the Month. Then in February of this year, Shane was among those honored at a Senior Recognition Dinner held at South Park High.

As a post on the PIHL site details, the honor was awarded based on Shane’s “consistently strong performances in net to put his South Park team in championship contention in PIHL Class AA this season.” In further describing Shane’s accomplishments, both on and off the ice, the site details:

Peremba has an 8-2 record as a senior goaltender for the Eagles, with 4 of those wins coming via shutout. He has a 1.29 Goals Against Average and a .958 Save Percentage, leading the classification in both statistical categories. He also leads Class A in shutouts and is tied for second in wins.

Peremba carries a 3.65 GPA at South Park High School, where he has been recognized as an Academic Scholar-Athlete Award winner. He is a member of South Park’s Interact Club, which routinely does volunteer work in the community. Peremba continues his volunteerism at his local church, which includes his annual contributions to the Christmas Nativity.

Congratulations, Shane!
