Branch 855 officers Barbara Sutila, Ann Sutila and Karen Habian welcomed guests Christie and Tony Anzalone along with their son, Rocco to their semi-annual meeting. Members enjoyed a luncheon at Santo’s Restaurant and listened to a presentation by Tony and Christie who shared Rocco’s journey with Down syndrome. They spoke about the meaningful impact GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center has had on their family. They explained that GiGi’s Playhouse offers FREE therapeutic, educational and research programs to individuals of all ages with Down syndrome. Rocco especially likes the athletic program they provide. A “cash for the cause” fundraiser was held as an FIA project for the branch. With the support and generosity of members, officers and guests, the branch collected $600! All of the funds were used to purchase sensory toys, books, art supplies and musical instruments to help the mission of this terrific organization.
