FCSU Decorate-A-Cake Contest In Celebration of 250 Years!

On this special occasion, many will be celebrating our historic 4th of July, 2026 with family, friends and of course food. What better way to top off the festivities than with a spectacular patriotic dessert, especially with the opportunity to showcase your creativity, and win a cash prize in our new Decorate-A-Cake Contest. Pull out all the stops to express your American Spirit in this red, white and blue birthday extravaganza! We extend a special invitation to our Canadian members and dear friends to the north to join in the fun. First Place prize for each category of competition is $250!

• Open to current members 12 years of age and older. One entry per member.
• Judging is based on two age groups 12-19 year olds, and adults 20 years and older. Younger members are encouraged participate by assisting their family members.
• Make your cake from scratch, box cake mixes or rice cereal forms, etc. as the competition is judged on appearance not taste.
• All decorations must be edible and feature predominately red, white and blue colors. Use of icings, gum paste, fondant, spun sugar, candy, fresh fruit, fruit wraps, edible glitter, nonpareils, sprinkles, luster dust, sanding sugar, modeling chocolate, and food coloring is permitted.
• All designs must be home made/hand crafted. Use of cake decorating tools is permitted. Purchased cupcake papers/liners and candles are permitted.
• Use of craft cutting machines, computer aided designs, AI, etc. is not allowed.
• Email two photos of you in the decorating process. 1. You with your basic iced cake. 2. You with your fully decorated cake.
• You may submit up to two additional photos from different perspectives if necessary to capture your overall design.
• Four finalists will be selected per category and age group. Cash Prizes: 1st – $250, 2nd – $200, 3rd – $150, 4th – $100. That’s 24 winners in all.
